I really enjoyed this read. I'm a fan of the blog format and found his story to be amusing but also inspiring. You often read or hear people talking about appreciating life and 'seizing the day' but coming from this real life perspective it holds a little more water.
I was hoping the disease itself would have been addressed more in the book. Having a 21 yr old recently diagnosed with Pompe I was hoping to learn more about the progression of the disease from someone's personal perspective.
What a wonderfully humourous book. I have the same "disorder" as James and it is essential to have a sense of humour when dealing with the issues we face. Congratulations James on a job well done. I look forward to your next book. I would reccommend (did i spell that right?) this book to anyone!
A very enjoyable and humorous book. The blog format makes it fun and easy to read, too. The author takes a very serious and personal situation and turns it into an uplifting, funny and inspirational experience. You'll laugh (hysterically), you'll cry (more than likely), and you'll be reminded of the things that are truly important in life that are often-times taken for granted when you are in seemingly good health. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who wants a good laugh and who wants to get more out of life.
I heard about this book, but wasn't sure I would like the blog format. I am pleased to say I LOVE IT! I love this book, as well. The author has a way of getting to the heart of you, without killing you. I think if we were all honest, we would be a lot better off in this world. I appreciate the courage it must have taken to put these thoughts and feelings out there for the rest of us to read and ultimately judge. If you want an easy, fun and enlightening book, you have to read this one!
